On Thursday, December 13, the entire St. Madeleine’s community joined with archdiocesan and Special Olympics representatives to celebrate the arrival of our Special Olympics National Unified School banner!
The assembly was made even more special with the appearance of the Mariner Moose and a personalized video congratulations from Dr. Tim Shriver, Executive Director of Special Olympics International.
Through song, video and recognition, the work of the student body and staff was highlighted as being a shining example of inclusion. Of the 220 primary through university level programs to reach National Banner status, only eight elementary schools have been so recognized. St. Madeleine’s is the first and only elementary school in the State of Washington.
Way to go, Seraphs! Another national notice of our exemplary program. We should ALL be proud!
