Yesterday, our 2nd Graders had an exciting field trip to the Seattle Aquarium as part of their science unit on aquatic biomes! 🐠🌊 Students explored marine habitats up close and connected their classroom learning to real-world ocean life.
At St. Madeleine Sophie School, it’s the people behind the classrooms, desks, and office who make our mission come alive. 💫 This is who guides, teaches, and inspires our students — every single day.
Last week, all of our students began their CRS Rice Bowl lessons — a meaningful Lenten tradition rooted in our Catholic faith. Throughout Lent, they will learn about families in Ghana, Guatemala, and Bangladesh, whose stories help us see how we are connected as one global community.
Students explored the Catholic Social Teaching principle of solidarity — recognizing that we are one human family and called to stand with our brothers and sisters around the world. They reflected on what solidarity looks like in action and created thoughtful drawings to represent their understanding.
We are proud of the compassion and faith our students are already showing this Lenten season. 💜

It was an exciting day at St. Madeleine Sophie School as we hosted our very first All-School Spelling Bee! 🐝✨
Representatives from 5th through 8th Grade bravely competed in front of the entire school, surrounded by supportive staff, parents, and siblings. The words were no easy feat, but our students rose to the challenge with impressive thoughtfulness, focus, and talent.
Congratulations to Paula in 7th Grade for earning the title of Spelling Bee Champion! 👏
We were also proud to recognize our classroom winners from 1st through 4th Grade during the ceremony. What a wonderful showcase of courage, academic excellence, and school spirit! 💙💛

So proud of our St. Madeleine Sophie Academic Decathlon Team! 💛
Today they met with the St. Therese Guild to share about their upcoming competition on March 7th at Kennedy High School. Students explained the decathlon tests and quizzes, what subjects they have been studying and even hosted a fun mock Super Quiz with the ladies in attendance!
Thank you to the St. Therese Guild for your continued support and encouragement. Please keep our team in your prayers as they prepare to compete!
3rd Grade put their faith into action today with a service field trip to the St. Vincent de Paul food bank. During this Lenten season, our students answered the call to serve by helping pass out food to neighbors in need — offering not just groceries, but smiles and kindness.
Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching, they lived out the Dignity of the Human Person and the Option for the Poor and Vulnerable, learning that we are all called to care for one another. 💜
So proud of these young disciples for walking the Lenten journey with generous hearts and helping hands. #FaithInAction #Lent #catholicschools
Today, 1st and 2nd Graders took time after Stations of the Cross to reflect on how they’ve helped others, focusing on Almsgiving as an important pillar of Lent. 💜
We are so proud of this month’s SLE winners! Our students continue to impress us with the many ways they serve, lead, love, and learn!
