Honoring the Adamo Family at our 20th Anniversary Gala

At this year’s school gala, the St. Madeleine Sophie School community gathered not only for an evening of celebration and generosity, but also to mark an important milestone in the life of the school: the 20th Anniversary Gala. As families, staff, alumni, and supporters reflected on two decades of growth and mission, the evening also provided an opportunity to honor two individuals whose dedication has helped shape the spirit of the school community—Claudine and Dean Adamo, recipients of the 2026 Costello Award.

The Costello Award is rooted in the spirit of Blessed Margaret of Castello, whose life reflected radical love, service, and unwavering care for others. Each year, the award honors members of our community who embody those same values through steady and faithful commitment to our mission.

For many families at St. Madeleine Sophie, the Adamos need little introduction. Their connection to the school began when their son, Devin, joined the community in Kindergarten in 2014, but their impact has extended far beyond their years as parents. Over nearly a decade of partnership with the school—and in the years since—they have remained deeply invested in the life of our community.

Throughout the evening, speakers reflected on the many ways the Adamos have modeled what it means to build a culture of belonging. Whether through their kindness, advocacy, humor, or unwavering support, they have consistently reminded others that schools become stronger when families walk alongside one another with trust and compassion.

The significance of honoring the Adamos during the school’s 20th anniversary celebration was especially meaningful. As the community reflected on the people who helped sustain and strengthen St. Madeleine Sophie School over the years, Dean and Claudine stood out as examples of the enduring commitment and generosity that have helped the school flourish. Their support has not only impacted today’s students and families, but has helped build a foundation for future generations.

The Adamos were recognized not only for their generosity, but for the way they live out their commitment to the school community. Dean has continued to serve as the gala auction emcee year after year, while Claudine has remained an active member of the School Commission. Together, they have supported countless school initiatives with their time, talent, and treasure—always quietly, faithfully, and without seeking recognition.

Their example also reflects one of the core values of St. Madeleine Sophie School: that every person deserves to feel seen, valued, and connected. The Adamos have never forgotten the importance of community or the role this school played in their family’s journey. Their continued presence and support send a powerful message to students, families, and staff alike—that belonging does not end at graduation, but continues through lifelong relationships and shared mission.

As the school community applauded this year’s honorees, the evening served as a reminder of what makes St. Madeleine Sophie so special: people who show up for one another, who lead with love, and who strengthen the foundation of belonging for future generations.

We are deeply grateful to Claudine and Dean Adamo for their steadfast support of our mission and for the example they continue to set for our entire community.
