Moveathon Fun!
When the horn sounded at 10:30am on Friday, October 9, hundreds of feet – little and big – had completed their walk, run, jog, crawl, pedal or skip their way around our parking lot course for 60 minutes during our fourth annual Moveathon!
Special thanks to Margaret Cirella and crew for their outstanding preparations and coordination. A great deal of effort went gone into this important first-of-the-year fundraiser.
Now is the time to finish bringing in those pledges. The faculty and staff have hit the 100% mark in securing pledges for the event AND surpassed their assigned goal. 100% participation by all families is vital to making our budget mark this year. Donations can be made on through the school web site – at the top, click on GIVING. Very easy for Grandma in Scottsdale to do. The web site link is open through Friday, 10/30. Each family receives one chance in the Principal for a Day drawing for every $25 donated.
Along with the incentive prizes, sponsored t-shirts, and finish line fro-yo, our special treat on Friday was a warm up lead by Olympic medalist, Anna Cummins. Like her husband, Anna is a decorated athlete who credits her success to maintaining good health. Anna won a silver medal in the 2004 Olympics and a gold in the 2008 Olympics. She won three national rowing titles for the University of Washington.
