While the teachers were busy with their colleagues last Friday at the annual archdiocesan Teacher Excellence Day at Blanchet High School in Seattle, our mighty harriers from St. Mad’s were obviously tapering their training and resting up for the CYO championship cross country meet.  It OBVIOUSLY paid off!

It is with great delight that we congratulate the St. Madeleine Sophie 2016 Cross Country Team for winning 3rd place at last Sunday’s (10/09) Championship held at Lake Sammamish State Park!  Led by Coach Dave Huey, the team also received the St. Paul Sportsmanship Award for their display of sportsmanship throughout the season.

It takes just a bit of momentum to thrust a program like ours into the spotlight.  After his years of service, Commissioner Ed Cirella can leave at the end of the year knowing we have some well-earned trophies to start the ball rolling.  Many thanks to Dave Huey and the coaching staff and parents for the time spent.  It really does pay off.  Even bigger and better next year!  Watch for the info next spring on how your child (and you) can participate.  Stop by the office to view their trophies!
